Sephora has launched “Skincare iQ,” which can be compared to an electronic skincare consultation. The retailer is using touch screen technology to help shoppers find the best products for their skin type — in 60 seconds or less.

Skincare iQ users are asked a series of deductive questions designed to address specific skincare concerns. The software cross-references the store’s 1,200 skus, among its 60 skincare brands, to suggest the best products for specific issues. Product recommendations can be sorted by price, rating, best sellers or relevance. A built-in glossary even provides detailed ingredient information.

“Sephora Skincare iQ is another demonstration of our pioneering vision in client service” says Mary Herald, EVP of Sephora Education. “By bringing interactive technology to our skincare services, we are continuing to elevate what personalized and impartial product advice means to our clients,” she adds.
